Vintage Kigu Bouquet Novelty Figural Flower Basket Powder Compact c.1940

Vintage Kigu Bouquet powder compact dating circa 1940 in the form of a flower basket complete with hinged carry handle. It is made of gold tone metal with pretty machine turned pattern. The lid has a domed lucite top enclosing within a bouquet of silk flowers and foliage. The case has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a cream celluloid interior with glued glass mirror under the lid which is clear and reflective. The powder well in the base has the Kigu logo and the word Bouquet is impressed beneath the hinge. The compact retains the original sifter and Kigu marked puff. This charming novelty powder compact measures 3.5cm in height excluding the hinged carry handle and is 5.3cm in diameter across the lid. It is offered in good condition with no dents or dings to the case. The gold tone metal has no tarnish and there is no damage to the lucite top. The interior is clean and the mirror is clear and reflective.
