Vintage Melissa Lucite & Flowers Powder Compact Circa 1950

Vintage Melissa powder compact dating circa 1950, measuring 7 cm in diameter and made of gold tone metal with decorative machine turned pattern to the base. The lid has chased gold tone border and at the centre of the lid set within clear Lucite dome with faceted edges are delightful lucite roses and foliage on a gold glitter foil ground. This powder compact has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a clear and reflective framed glass mirror under the lid. The case is marked on the frame beneath the mirror Melissa Made in England. The powder well in the base is covered by a hinged powder well door which opens and closes correctly. The powder well has traces of loose powder and retains the original sifter. Offered in very good condition with just some marks to the base consistent with placing over the years. Nothing further is found.
