Vintage Mid Century Mahogany Fold Over Card Table

Good mid-century light mahogany fold-over card table (circa 1969) with green baize by Beautility Ltd. Beautility Ltd was founded in 1896 and was initially known as Sadovsky having been established by Simon Sadovsky at Shoreditch. It specialised in English Revival Furniture. Rebranded in 1929 as Beautilty Ltd by Simon's youngest son (Harvey) and in the 30's it moved to larger premises in Edmonton. Harvey died at the age of just 39 after distinguished war service. Well known for producing a range of furniture. These include Art Deco pieces and Mid-Century Modern Designs hat are highly sought after. The other 2 sons of Simon, Ronald and Gerald) retired in 1957. Beautility was purchased by Isaac Wolfson's GUS Group before being passed onto Bowater's. They subsequently sold it to F. Austin. It terminated as Austinsuite in 1982.
