Description
This is a traditional mid 20th Century Indian item with seven compartments. It was used to store expensive spices or colourings used in special ceremonies, with seven separate lidded compartments, standing on seven small legs. The lidded compartments are kept firmly closed by a single threaded finial with a phoenix. This releases all the hinged compartments for access at the same time. Heavy for its size, maybe coated bronze.
