Vintage Powder Compact Figural / Novelty Flower Basket Form Circa 1940

Vintage figural powder compact dating circa 1940. The compact is unmarked, but I believe it is a Henriette model. It is in the form of a flower basket complete with hinged carry handle. Made of gold tone metal with dark red/brown marbled enamel surfaces and the lid is further enhanced with pretty flowers. The case has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a clear and reflective framed glass mirror under the lid. The celluloid powder well in the base is covered by a gold tone metal hinged door. Inside the well is the original sifter and the top of the puff. This charming novelty powder compact measures 5.5 cm in diameter and is approx. 3.5 cm in height not including the hinged carry handle. It is offered in good pre used condition. The case has a ding to the base but this is hard to see and there is also light wear to the painted flowers on the lid. Still a very unusual model and displays very well.
