Vintage Powder Compact Sterling Silver Guilloche Enamel Cornflowers Birmingham 1955

English powder compact fully hallmarked to the inside of the powder well for Birmingham 1955 with the maker's mark C&N for the silversmith Crisford & Norris. This powder compact is square with canted corner and measures 7.3 cm square. The compact has solid silver base with fine engine turned pattern. The lovely lid has pure white guilloche enamel in a sunray design and features a motif of beautiful cornflowers. This compact has firm hinge and secure catch and opens to reveal a framed glass mirror with bevelled edge under the lid. The mirror is clear and reflective. The powder well is covered by a silver hinged door and the well beneath has the original sifter. This fine powder compact is offered in very good condition. There are no dents or dings to the case, no tarnish to the silver and no chips, cracks or flaking to the fabulous guilloche enamel lid.
