Watch : Gents Tissot Visodate Seastar T12 Automatic Wrist Watch, 1961

The watch has a calibre 784 21-jewel automatic movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 4,877,750 which dates it back to 1961. The watch measures 35mm diameter excluding the later period winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in good condition with just light marking. The screw-on case back has the embossed Spanish galleon image which was used to denote Tissot’s water resistant sports and dive watches… although, as with any vintage watch, it should now be kept away from water and moisture. The lens is in good condition. The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, centre seconds hand and date display. This is an early form of quickset where the hands are moved repeatedly backwards and forwards between 12 midnight and 9.30pm until the desired date is reached. There is minor marking to the dial but not too detrimental to the naked eye. A new leather strap has been fitted. The watch comes in a new presentation box.
