Description
Dating from the turn of the nineteenth century this finely worked silk embroidery of flowers and fauna arranged in a basket is on a gold silk background. The embroidery work is fine particularly for me the fine shading of the acanthus shaped leaves. The picture sits in what I believe to be it original gilt wooden frame with Verre églomisé mount.

declaration
The Three MusCATeers has clarified that the Wonderful Framed Floral Silkwork Picture c.1810 (LA394046) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1810
condition
With the passing of the years both the silk thread of the embroidery and the silk background has faded. The cloth of the silk backcloth is no longer as taught as it once was and there are creases to it as you can hopefully see from the photos. There are some tiny little holes on the side of the picture with the falling yellow flowers. The frame is in good condition, there are some chips to the gilt and some loss to the beading on the bottom of the inner rim. There is a light 'milkiness' to the Verre églomisé mount.
