Named after one of their pet sheep, No43 is a haven of decorative antiques and vintage interiors sourced and renovated by husband and wife David and Gaynor Prior. Gaynor is the buyer, simply buying items she loves and having quite eclectic taste. Coming from a theatrical background as an ex-wig maker, she has a keen eye for design and history. David is the practical one, bringing the stock back to life and being from a 'Rock n Roll' lighting background, having toured the world with various bands, he can pretty much re-wire anything. No43’s stock varies widely from 18th century furniture, chinoiserie, vintage posters, a large selection of lighting to mid century and vintage Indian items. Throw in a selection of hand picked curiosities, art and soft furnishings and you have No43….... See more

After deciding on antiques as a career at a young age I embarked on the antiques course at Southampton Institute which led to a Saturday job in my final year at the Furniture Cave on King's road Chelsea. During my formative years at the shop I developed a keen interest in the door fittings department supplied by David Kenrick whose family owned the famous Kenrick brass foundry in West Bromwich Birmingham. After a decade of being involved in the day to day running of the shop and slowly building my own stock I set up on my own. After a short while trading at the Old Cinema in Chiswick I moved back to my own retail space in the Furniture Cave. I have built up a business supplying interior designers and private clients across the United Kingdom and the world with period fittings. I am now based in the Lake District trading here online and also through retail space in London. You will find here online for sale an extensive selection of classic period brass door furniture, lighting and fireplace accessories from the late Eighteenth Century through to the mid 20th Century. This includes brass door knockers, door handles, letter boxes, door pulls, coat hooks, lamps, lights, spark guards, fenders, fire dogs, fire irons, curtain tie backs and objet d'art. Please do not hesitate to contact me if there is a special piece you are looking for or if you would like to join the mailing list.... See more

Rupert Bond Fine Arts was established in 1983 at the time when the founder, Ian McNeice commenced his studies reading a four year History of Art degree. Growing up in Bath has had a strong influence on our founder and Georgian style is at the centre of everything we love about Country House art. With his knowledge from formal study of art history plus the influence of Georgian architecture and interiors, Ian decided to focus the business on fine period art works. Since those halcyon days, Rupert Bond Fine Arts has established itself as a distinguished fine art English dealership specialising in 18th Century portraiture and 19th Century seascapes, landscapes and water colours. Over the years Rupert Bond Fine Art has built up a super, discerning and loyal client base and we have proudly sourced fine pieces for Buckingham Palace, European royalty and a wide range of discerning clientele from all walks of life. Today we are based on the edge of the Lake District and travel the UK regularly for fine art sales, auctions and fairs. Whilst we frequently add fine oil paintings to our inventory, period watercolours represent a superb way into art collecting as well as discerning interior decoration and we believe currently represent an excellent route into the field of art acquisition. We do not have an expensive shop or gallery to maintain which is why we can keep our art prices as reasonable as possible although transportation and packaging costs continue to represent challenges for larger and heavier works. After a recent inventory refresh we are now stocking new works to excite and delight our art buyers. Our fine art clients come from every walk of life, whilst appreciating high quality art work at an affordable price point. Our art works are not prints or copies, but original works by known artists that provide not only decorative statements in any home or office, but also allow close-up study of expert artistic talent for those who collect fine art. Ian and the Rupert Bond team regularly add superb works of art to the inventory from a wide range of sources including a wealth of auction houses, collectors and dealers. At Rupert Bond our ethos is to enable anyone to own a fine piece of historical art. Therefore we offer works across a range of price points.... See more
