Alfred John Billinghurst RBA (1880-1965) was a landscape and portrait artist born Blackheath, London following education in England, Germany and Switzerland, studied at the Slade School, London 1899-1902, at Goldsmiths London, at the Academie Julien in Paris and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1903. Influenced by the English impressionist movement. Elected full member RBA 1921. Exhibitor at RA, RBA, ROI and elsewhere. ‘Children playing by a Mill-stream’ signed watercolour.
