Previously I worked in London as a Chartered Surveyor and have been dealing in paintings for thirty years. I have exhibited at at many major antique fairs and have vetted at them when required. I live in North Yorkshire but trade from Castlegate Antiques, 1/3 Castlegate, Newark, Notts, NG24 1A2 Tel 01636 701877 where my stock can be viewed Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm. However it is advisable to ring first if wishing to view a specific item in case it is in Yorkshire. If not at Newark it can then be brought to the shop to be viewed at your convenience.

Claude Hayes RI, ROI, RSW (1852-1922) was a landscape and portrait painter born Dublin. Son of artist Edwin Hayes. Ran away to sea. Spent a year in America. Studied Heatherleys, RA Schools(3 years) and under Verlat in Antwerp. Lived at various addresses in London, Surrey and Hants.
Prolific exhibitor including 76 at RA,242 at Brook Street Gallery, 205 at RI, 93 at ROI. 282 at Walkers Gallery, London,39 at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and elsewhere. 'A Mill near Snoring, Norfolk’ signed watercolour, titled on artists label verso.
It comes in an original gilt frame.
