An absolutely gorgeous Victorian signet ring crafted from 9st rose gold and silver. Beautifully detailed and unusual this is sure to bring a smile to your face. Hallmarked old style UK and fully x-ray tested. Lovely Art Nouveau panelled design to the front. Set with an oval piece of black onyx and accented with rose cut white spinels. Dates to latter part of the 20th Century c1870s. In olden times the alloying of gold left it too soft to mount stones in effectively. For this reason other metals were used to provide a more secure setting - in this instance silver. Width across front is 12.5 mm. Width at the back is 1.2 mm. Total height of front panel is 3.4mm. I do not use professional photographers (you'd just have to pay more if I did) and do not photoshop or enhance pictures in any way. I simply take macro pictures in a homemade lightbox to provide the most honest portrayal possible. I clean lightly before snapping but do not polish to "as new" though this can obviously be done. It is only my opinion but I feel antique items that are polished too much lose some of the character.
