Antique Cameo Brooch with Wirework Frame

This exquisite antique shell cameo brooch showcases a relief of a classical maiden, likely sculpted from a conch shell. The carving is set within a delicate, oval-shaped filigree frame, composed of intricate scrollwork and twisted wire details. The reverse reveals a classic c-clasp and its attaching pin, features that strongly suggest a production date between 1890 and 1910. While the metal is not hallmarked, its design and construction are typical of silver. This piece is a beautiful example of the transition from Victorian to Edwardian jewellery.
