This is an antique campaign correspondence box. An Anglo-Indian, teak and brass bound Colonial traveller's writing case, dating to the late Victorian period. Captivatingly appointed interior, set within a quality bound case. Displays a desirable aged patina, commensurate with careful use. Teak stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues. Flourishes of golden tones from the extensive brass bounding. Lid opens to reveal a fully-featured interior, replete with letter rack and compartments. Trio of articulated slides to centre create an inset platform, ahead of lift out trays. Dressed with a distinctive brass lock escutcheon — untested, key absent.
