Description
This fine quality antique dressing table scent bottle is made of heavy clear cut glass and stands 11 cm in height with a maximum width of approx. 7.5 cm. This perfume bottle has a globular shape and the glass is cut in hobnail design with star cut base. The bottle is fitted with a sterling silver screw lid which has a full set of English hallmarks now a little too rubbed ot read (pictured). Nonetheless I estimate this perfume bottle dates circa 1900. The lid also bears the maker's initials CM for Charles May. The lid has attractive foliate and scroll repousse decoration with a central blank cartouche to the top. The lid unscrews to reveal the original cut and faceted clear glass inner stopper.
This antique perfume bottle is offered in very good condition with no chips, cracks or fractures to the glass body, neck and inner stopper. The silver lid fits firmly and securely and has no dents, splits or tears.
