Turn of the century copper dog weather vane. ​This authentic antique weather vane dates from the late 19th or early 20th century, captures the stately silhouette of a sporting dog in impressive large size. Dog most closely resembling a Labrador Retriever or English Setter. The dog is a full-bodied silhouette with a simple, yet clear, profile, standing on a horizontal bar that would have been part of the mounting or directional system. ​The piece is crafted from copper and has developed a natural verdigris patina, showcasing the beautiful blue green oxidation. Weather vane is ​mounted on original painted black brass post, making it magnificent statement piece for a country home, lodge or any space celebrating rustic and antique charm.
