Description
This is an antique drawing room tea caddy. An English, flame mahogany sarcophagus with glass mixer, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. Superb craftsmanship with striking decorative appearance that displays a desirable aged patina and in good order. Select flame stocks present superior grain interest. Warm caramel hues dazzle beneath a wax polish finish. Distinctive sarcophagus top with domed and beaded centrepiece. Dressed to the fascia with a small circular lock escutcheon — in working order, key present. Pair of lidded canisters sit neatly within their recess, with a mixing glass to centre. Canisters in appealing original order, with aged linings. Mixing glass presents appealing cut detail with diamond patterns. One small loss to the circumference of the rolled foot. Glass resides within a violet velvet lined receptacle. The whole raised upon a quartet of squat bun feet. This is a dashing antique drawing room tea caddy, with striking figuring and graced with fine Regency craftsmanship. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home. We offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee with all of our antiques. Please contact us if you require any further information - we are here to help.
