This is an antique four decanter box. An English, mahogany spirit or whiskey bottle case with Bramah lock, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800. Gorgeous Georgian dining room casework, for storing favoured tipples that displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout Select stocks present fine grain interest and warm caramel hues. It is of stout construction, typical of the finest period craftsmanship. Dressed to the fascia with brass lock escutcheon - in working order, key present. The lock itself is a desirable Bramah mechanism, with a post-1798 Royal Crown engraving. Lock opens in Bramah patent manner, with a single twist rather than the usual throw of other locks. Interior arranged as a quartet of generous, square compartments. Suitable for wide spirit bottles are grand square form decanters Appointed to each side with inset, brass cup handles.
