Antique French White Over Cobalt Blue Overlay Glass Perfume Scent Bottle Silver Lid c.1880

Offered for your consideration is this finest antique French scent bottle dating circa 1880 and measuring 9 cm in length. This perfume bottle has slim neck widening at the centre and then tapering in at the base. The base is flattened so the bottle can stand upright without support. This scent bottle has fabulous cut body in clear glass with overlaid white over cobalt blue glass in raised diamond, triangular, oblong, ridges, crosses and star panels... truly stunning! The bottle is fitted with a sterling silver collar and hinged lid which has a fine gold wash finish and both the collar and the lid have tiny French hallmarks. The bottle also retains it's clear glass inner stopper. This fine antique perfume bottle is offered in very good condition with no chips, cracks or fractures to the glass body, neck and stopper. There lid fits firmly and securely and has no dents or dings. There is some interior staining to the glass which looks like a thin purple line on the inside and I have not attempted to clean this and it is far more noticeable in the images than in person. Pictures do not do this perfume bottle justice and this is an outstanding bottle for the discerning collector! Thank you for looking.
