Antique George IV Mahogany Fold-over Tea Table

Circa 1830, exhibition quality George IV mahogany fold-over tea table. The rectangular top in exceptionally figured Spanish mahogany with a rich colour and patina and with rounded front edges, swivels and opens to a polished interior. The crossbanded cushion frieze with deep foliate carvings at the corners and supported on a circular column with a ring-turned collar. All over a quadripartite shaped base, on claw feet with acanthus decorations and original brass castors. 75 cm high x 91 cm wide x 45 cm deep (closed) x 90 cm deep (open).
