Description
French Grand Tour souvenir perfume bottle dating circa 1880 which measures 12 cm in height and has a maximum diameter of 7 cm at the base. This perfume bottle is made of beautiful ruby red glass with smooth rounded body and has a decorative pierced gilt ormolu mount at the top of the shoulders. The bottle has a scalloped hinged lid and the top is set with a miniature eglomise watercolour painting which I think depicts the Palace of Versailles.
This antique perfume bottle has no chips, cracks or fractures to the glass body. The neck rim has some minor fritting and the inner glass stopper is undamaged. The eglomise painting to the top of the lid has some fading.
