Antique Ham Stand

This antique white ironstone shop display ham stand dates from the early 20th century (circa 1920s) and was originally used by British butchers or grocers to elevate and showcase prime cuts of meat. Characterized by its heavy, durable ceramic construction and a distinctively wide, stable pedestal base, the stand features a deeply recessed top ring tailored to cradle a whole ham hock securely. Its upper rim is clearly stamped with the crisp, circular black-and-white advertising emblem of "G. Rushbrooke (Smithfield) Ltd.," referencing the famous historic London meat market.
