Antique Josephinenhutte Red Colour Opaque Twist Cordial Glass C1900

Technical Description A very fine Josephinenhutte colour opaque twist cordial glass. It has a small trumpet bowl and sits above an opaque twist stem consisting of a pair of 8-ply white spiral bands outside two pairs of translucent red threads. Conical foot. Date & Origin Silesia, c1900. Condition Excellent, age-related wear as shown. Dimensions Height: 15.1cm Rim diameter: 3.7cm Foot diameter: 4.8cm. Historical Context Hand-blown around the time of the one and only Olympic cricket match, held in Paris on the 19th of August 1900.
