Antique Mahogany Armchair with Blue Patterned Upholstery

A handsome late Victorian or Edwardian armchair, with a partial open arm design featuring a carved central rosette detail with turned and carved armrest supports and turned forelegs. We have recovered the chair (which retains the original horsehair stuffing) with a blue patterned fabric finished with blue double piping. This chair has some lovely details, especially the carving to the armrests and the matching finials at each corner of the backrest. The partial open arm design is unusual and gives the chair a distinctive appearance without compromising on comfort.
