Antique 19th century Regency Writing table in mahogany, an elegant and well-proportioned piece of good quality, showcasing fine craftsmanship and a wonderful period character. The frieze is fitted with two cockbeaded drawers, each with its turned mahogany ring knob, offering useful storage while keeping the clean, classic lines of the piece. The top is framed by a three-quarter gallery with neatly scrolled ends, and the table stands on four slender ring-turned and tapering legs, a hallmark of the Regency period. The mahogany displays a lovely figured grain and a warm, rich colour with a deep aged patina built up over many years. Presented in good condition with honest signs of age and use. A very desirable Regency piece, perfect as a side table, hall table, console or writing table.
