Antique Silver Rim Hukin & Heath Glug Glug Spirit Decanter

This glorious antique, silver mounted bedside overnight decanter is of 'pinched waist' form and comes from the celebrated makers Hukin & Heath who are well respected for; design, quality, and innovation. The decanter or flask is hallmarked for 1904. Hukin & Heath's collaboration with Dr Christopher Dresser was noted by 'The Art Journal', 1879, 222: the showrooms were described as 'redolent of art', while the art works were produced without increasing the cost, exhibiting 'grace combined with the useful, simplicity and purity of form with readiness of application to the purposes to which they are to be applied'. The firm's design books were destroyed before it closed down in 1953. Whilst the traditional whisky 'Noggin' may be more widely available, the pinched waist overnighter here, offers a worthy competitor both in; aesthetic appeal, preserving the contents, and its generous proportion!
