Antique Silver Ring or Trinket Box with Red Velvet Lining

This exquisite antique ring and trinket box dated from 1907 is from the highly respected A & J Zimmerman Ltd (Arthur & John Zimmerman) workshop, during a period regarded by many as their 'golden era'. Consequently it is a vehicle for many of the design cues and manufacturing innovations they were working with during the years after the turn of the century, prior to the outbreak of the First World War. The interior is finished in a deep rich blood red velvet, highlighting not just the silver, but also the gilt interior of the lid. (Please note there is a reflection on the lid.) It is without doubt one of the finer pieces produced by Zimmerman's.
