Description
This beautiful small portrait of a proud young boy is finely executed in graphite and wash on paper, I particularly find the execution of the buttons on his jacket and waistcoat stunning. The portrait sits in I think a later oval gilt gesso frame, most likely Victorian which has in the more recent past been repainted. It really is a most charming piece.

The Three MusCATeers has clarified that the Beautiful Georgian Graphite & Wash Portrait of Young Boy (LA398435) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1780
condition
The portrait is in very good condition with no foxing that I can see and the colours are still strong. The frame too is in good condition and as I have already mentioned is I believe of a later date to the portrait and it has been repainted. It still has its original hanger which appears strong.
