Carved Oak Swinging Crib on Stand

Unusual stylish profusely carved oak cradle/crib. The boat shaped crib with pierced foliate carved sides, the solid end with a curvaceous section, held in place by brass clasps attached to two barley sugar uprights, one at the head is surmounted by a winged griffin holding a carved ring in its mouth, resting on top of the pedestal, the barley sugar columns rest on a platform base, braced by an elegant carved stretcher, with a coat of arms in the centre and pierced foliate carving on the top, all supported on four carved animal heads with foliate carving to the sides. The crib and stand are in excellent condition.
