Chinese 19th Century Bronze Lidded Box

A truly delightful heavy bronze lidded box with beautifully worked side panels depicting dragons on the two longest sides. To each end, a tiger mask is applied holding a circular handle in its mouth. The lid is also decorated with yet another dragon. On the lid each corner is complete with a small decorative quarter circle panel, overlaying the brick pattern of the rest of the lid. Inside, four indistinct Chinese Characters can be found on the base interior.
