Description
An early Victorian tea caddy dating from c1845 veneered in beautiful flame mahogany with a cross-banded satinwood border to the top edged with ebony stringing. Inside are two lidded compartments, each with a little ebony knob. The inside of the lid is lined in a pale blue paper.
The simple shape of this tea caddy allows the beautiful flame mahogany to shine. It is very lovely timber - the photos don’t really do it justice!

Antique and Unique has clarified that the Early Victorian Flame Mahogany Tea Caddy (LA588781) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being c.1845
condition
The tea caddy has a couple of marks and losses, which are shown in the photos, mainly a few small chips around the corners, though there is a larger blemish on one side. The lock doesn’t have an escutcheon. The inside is in good original condition.
