I specialise in affordable original artworks - mainly traditional watercolours and oil paintings but I also have a range of contemporary artworks including limited edition lithographic prints. I also stock a limited selection of antiques and collectables, including treen, ceramics and glass. I have now opened a large showroom at Wallingford Arcade, in Wallingford between Reading and Oxford, but I also trade online. My website, www.artandstuffgallery.com has a gallery section with several mini-galleries where my items are displayed, including more contemporary items not shown on LoveAntiques.

Description
Edward Wesson was a distinguished contemporary artist, specialising in oils and watercolours of landscapes and rivers. He was largely self taught. He developed a watercolour technique known for its simplicity, boldness and mastery of brushwork. He exhibited at Royal Academy and became a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, the Royal Society of Marine Artists and teh Royal Society of British Artists. He was also a very popular teacher of the art. This fine piece shows more detail, the more you look at it and the colours are pleasing and subtle. Signed by the artist lower left. Beneath the mount the artist has also written the location as "Deeside from Bieldside" and dated it April 1964 (see photo). Bieldside is a small town near Aberdeen overlooking the River Dee.
