Edward Wesson Watercolour - Sailing Vessels At Sea

Edward Wesson (RI 1910-1983) was born in Blackheath London, Wesson was one of the great watercolourists of the 20th Century. He was largely self taught, developing his own style of economic strokes to depict subjects.He painted landscapes, coastal and river scenes; the River Thames was also a favourite subject. His work spanned nearly a half of a century, ranging from the 193Os until his death in 1983 during which period he also taught extensively. He exhibited at RI, RBA and the Royal Society of Marine Arists. ’Sailing Vessels at Sea’ signed watercolour.
