First Period Worcester Porcelain Green Ground & Spotted Fruit Saucer Dish c.1770
A pretty Worcester porcelain saucer dish, decorated in the Sevres style with a shaped apple green ground, ornately edged with finely detailed gilt scrolls and arabesques. The centre is painted with a "spotted fruit" arrangement of blackcurrants, strawberry, red chili peppers and the spotted apple and gooseberry. Dotted around the cavetto are various exotic insects and small green leaf sprigs. Unmarked, c. 1770.
