Geoffrey Mortimer (1895-1986) was a Norwich born painter in oil of horse subjects, landscapes and portraits. A great admirer of Munnings although he did not exhibit he found a ready market for his work through a local art dealer-Butcher and Son and also received several commissions for portraits. The Norwich Castle Museum has a portrait of a local Member of Parliament painted in 1928 and others hang in the City Hall and the Lads Club. ‘The Plough Team’ signed oil on board. Image size 24x44 cms, framed size 42.5 x 62cms. Housed in a good quality swept giltwood and plaster frame.
