George II Style Shaped Walnut Chest

Circa 1920’s, George II style walnut and burr walnut shaped front chest of drawers. The book matched top in figured walnut and broad cross banding. The shaped front has a configuration of four full length drawers which graduate from top to bottom, with circular engraved pierced escutcheons and a pair of drop handles with a similar back plate. The drawer facings are all in the finest burr walnut, beneath the bottom drawer is a shaped frieze that follows the form of the chest. It rests on four squat cabriole legs with C scrolling on the knee and the blocks.
