Description
This is a lovely fresh painting of a harbour with castle looming in the background. Although the artist does not identify the location, we recognise this as Canaerfon in Wales. The castle is glinting in early morning light and the boats, at low tide, are slightly tilting in contrast to the severe upright walls behind. Overall, very beautifully executed.
The painting is signed lower right by J Staple and dated 79.
