Jeanfilip - Highly Decorative Sized Framed Mixed Media and Collage - Entitled 'nel Sacco'
A Highly Decorative Painting by Jeanfilip - Mixed Media and Collage on Board - Framed, Signed and Dated 1999 and entitled 'Nel Sacco' (In The Bag)
Gianluigi Filippini, also known as Jeanfilip, born in 1962 he lives and works in the province of Milan. He is one of the most interesting impressionist artists on the national scene. He attended an art school for years, dedicating himself to the study of figures and landscapes (1985-1991), developing a good impressionist technique in which he expressed feelings through the harmony of colour, creating clear works with effects of light and shadows. His first exhibitions date back to this period with participation in group exhibitions with other artists and fellow students.
Moving away from figurative art, his first abstract works show this effect of decomposition of forms, recalling cubist art. Thus begins the true study of form, of a research painting, where the forms themselves acquire their own vitality and the composition becomes an elaborate subject, created by the relationship between form and colour. The paintings are built on warm tones and the total reliance on colour motivates the achievement of a widespread pictorial harmony organised by an internal energy revealed by the artist.
His paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Scotland, the United States, Denmark, Spain, Romania, Germany and Switzerland. His signature informal abstract expressionist works focus on key themes of colour, shapes and draw on impulses from the world around him. Jeanfilip prefers creating with oils, plaster, resin and enamel on wood or canvas.
