This is a large antique portrait. An English, framed watercolour behind glass, by Henry Benjamin Roberts (1831-1915), dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1880.
Charming 'English School' portrait set within a striking glazed frame that displays a desirable aged patina throughout. Rich golden hues dance across the superb giltwood forms. Scroll and foliate motif accentuates the frame.
Presents a woman in bonnet, with a catch light in her eyes
Captured in watercolour and set behind a clear, bright pane. Titled 'The Fisher Girl' with artist's signature to the lower edge. Dressed to the rear with hanging chain for ease of mounting.
This is a pleasingly presented antique portrait, with a generous proportion for the mantle wall and set within an eye-catching gilt frame. Delivered ready to display.
