A large antique Victorian folding fruit knife by Sheffield maker Thomas Marples, featuring attractive hand-carved wrythen-form genuine mother-of-pearl scales. Hallmarked sterling silver blade, with brass liners along the spine and decorative filework.

In good overall condition. The blade operates with a slightly stiff action, with an indistinct half-stop and a gentle snap on opening and closing. The blade tip protrudes slightly when closed. The blade retains a good thickness of silver with no blade play. The mother-of-pearl scales are free from damage and display attractive iridescence throughout.
