Late Meiji Period Japanese Imari Scalloped Charger c.1900
Late Meiji period Japanese Imari scalloped charger, traditionally painted in the Imari palette. Characteristic design of vase with flowers centrally and with broad, scalloped rim decorated in floral and foliate panels. Classic example of the Imari-ware that was made for export during the Meiji period. It has an unglazed foot and its ground has a blue tint.
