Louis XVI Period Marquetry Desk - 18th Century

Elegant and rare small Louis XVI period marquetry desk from the 18th century. This beautiful desk features two drawers in the frieze. The rectangular top is framed by a delicate gilt bronze gallery. Superb marquetry work in light tones on all it's sides. The table rests on straight legs decorated with fine inlays terminating in gilt bronze sabots and small casters. It is covered in a very beautiful tobacco-coloured leather with a superb patina. The drawer interiors are made of oak, a sign of quality and its period.
