Masonic Pocket Watch Chain Fob Sterling Silver 1899 RAOB Large Victorian Fob

Fabulous Masonic Gentleman's Victorian sterling silver (fully hallmarked) and Royal blue enamel pocket watch chain very large chunky 'Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes' fob. Measures; 5.5cm height (including the top ring), 3.6cm width and weighs a heavy 17.6 grams. Wonderful fancy large shield shaped fob which is beautifully adorned to the front with two raised un-engraved banner cartouches and acanthus leaves to either side upon which is sat a slightly raised, golden gilt, fancy engine turned circular shaped cartouche holding to centre a highly detailed buffalo's head with pale ruby coloured eyes. Around this is stamped in gold script (within a Victorian buckle style cartouche) upon a Royal blue enamel background (no damage or chipping); NEMO MORTALIUM OMNIBUS HORIS SAPIT (Latin- no mortal is wise at all times). The back is clearly inscribed; PRESENTED TO Prima F. Painter By the Members of the OLD SWAN LODGE BLOXWICH AS A MARK OF ESTEEM FOR HIS SERVICES AS HOST OF THE LODGE March 26th 1900 (Bloxwich is a market town in the West Midlands, England). Fully and clearly hallmarked to base within large, recessed cartouches with the Lion Passant (Sterling silver), Chester Assay (3 ears of corn) and capital fancy scrolled letter; Q - dating to 1899. Also carries the makers initials (within a recessed, oblong shaped cartouche); J.F. Large robust Sterling silver top ring to attach to a Masonic Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with no wear or damage (totally crisp - looks to have had very little use) and just a few fine little surface scratches commensurate with age.
