Description
Miniature Portrait in Leather Travelling Case. c1841. Superb quality miniature oval watercolour of a Gent. Signed with the monogram E.A.S. and dated 1841Mounted in a gilded metal slip, behind the original slightly bowed glass all in a Moroccan leather case. The portrait, slip and glass are pristine, the case is showing signs of its age, nothing drastic, see images. The case measures 4¾ inches (12cm) tall by 4inches (10cm) wide when closed. The hinges and catches all work as they should. All my photos are taken using natural light only, hence the reflections!
