Oil Painting by Gordon Clifford Barlow

A beautiful oil painting by Gordon Clifford Barlow (1913 - 2004) showing a boy fishing in a river overhung by trees. The painting is untitled, but Barlow painted predominantly landscapes in the Yorkshire Dales, so it is safe to assume that this is the location. The painting is signed and is well presented in a gilt frame with linen slip. Gordon Clifford Barlow lived and worked in Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales, and most of his paintings are of rural landscapes in Yorkshire and elsewhere. He studied and later taught at Bradford School of Art. He exhibited at galleries in London and across the country. Dimensions including the frame, 64cm wide, 54cm tall, 4.5cm deep. The image size is approximately 49.8cm wide by 39.5cm tall
