Description
Lovely night scene of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute in Dorsoduro sestiere in Venice. The work has great atmosphere and portrays the scale of the Baroque masterpiece. Always a joy to see when coming in by boat across the Lagoon.
Liz Sinclair was born in Glasgow in 1933, her father being a Navel surgeon, she studied art at Plymouth School of art before attending the Bath Academy and London University. In 1955 the family moved to Hong Kong she painted the vibrant colony in all its different moods. This was followed by a one woman exhibition of her Hong Kong oils that was a great success. When she returned to England she trained as an Art teacher, working in many private schools. She exhibited regularly in London and the provinces and had another solo exhibition in Italy.
