Description
Fine original oil painting of a young boy in Warsaw in c.1970.
At this time Doreen was living and working in Poland painting and translating.
Doreen studied art at Corsham art school where she met her future husband, Peter Potworowski who was teaching there in the late 1940s and 1950s.
They travelled extensively together and in the late 50's moved back to Poland where Peter became Professor of painting.
In 1963 Halima Nalecz, a Polish aristocrat with an art gallery in London, gave Doreen her first one woman show at the Drian gallery.
She painted all her life exhibiting in both Poland and The UK.
