Original Watercolour ‘Fishing Boats Preparing to Leave Harbour’ by Alec Butson - Signed & Dated 1982 - Framed

Lovely atmosphere watercolour of fishing boats preparing to leave harbour'. I don't know the exact location of the harbour but the configuration of the background buildings should provide the answer. Alec Butson was born in 1910 and went to art school in the 1930’s before being called up for War service in 1940. On his return he held positions as product and set designs for companies in London. During this time he painted and exhibited oils and watercolours mainly at the R.I. , R.W.S. The Wapping group and the R.S.M.A. His fluid wet wash style was influenced by his friends Edward Wesson and Gordon Hales.
