This stunning 19th century French Rococo wall mirror is a really outstanding example of the highest quality with the most exquisite original water gilding throughout. The elegant styling of the mirror has a wonderful design with scrolling acanthus leaves and floral detail on a trellis background all beautifully hand carved in solid wood.
The frame has its original water gilded finish in perfect condition with a wonderful antique colour. The mirror has its original good quality plate with a deeply cut bevelled edge to the good shield shape.
It is the original mercury plate with some slight ageing marks and spotting as to be expected with age of the piece.
This has very attractive large proportions and is in outstanding condition throughout with no damage or restoration.
The mirror is a most imposing size measuring 131cm by 84cm overall.
