Description
A pair of framed signed and numbered studies of Mexican children by the renowned Belgian artist Roger Hebbelinck. They have been behind glass at one time but it is no longer present and as a consequence, the boy (Hose's) picture has darkened more than that of the girl (Gina), as evidenced in the photo of them side by side. Both bear a large framer’s label stating that they are original coloured etchings. (One dated 1962).
There is surface dust and both could do with a good clean, they also have small watermark areas on their lower corners (as shown in the detailed image) but this does not extend to any of the main areas. The frames are solid, but the brown paper on the back of the boy picture has become torn, while the paper on the back of the girl study is good and although aged, both could benefit from fresh picture tape. They both have eyelets incorporating either a wire or cord for hanging. Both are signed and numbered, the boy 53/300 and the girl 17/300
In order to maintain maximum originality no attempt has been made to restore these pair and are exactly as purchased. Sold as a pair and cannot split.
